12. FORMAL or INFORMAL Some people don't like using table plans because they think it is too formal. This is acceptable at smaller functions, but at large functions it is better to have an 'A' board on entrance. It is a checklist of seats to guests and saves time, because with no plan people take longer to settle.

13. COLD BUFFET or HOT SIT DOWN MEAL The later the wedding, the later the function finishes. A quality buffet inviting all people to lunch and evening function is a good idea for a wedding taking place at 3.30pm or after. Hot sit down meals usually take two to three hours from start to finish, dependant on speeches and the nunmber of courses. So a hot meal can well run into and spoil the evening function - rushing to clear tables, etc.

14. TABLE PLAN Leave the plan with the caterers two days before the function. We will lay up names according to room. Bear in mind wheelchair space. Small children also need space and name card.

15. FLOWERS Florists usually drop them off, and caterers place them on the tables to your instructions.

16. CAKE Deliver with cake stand and knife. Caterers usually set up the cake either on a seperate table or on the top table. A seperate table is good for photographs.

17. MUSIC You usually make arrangements. With the meal, soft music or live guitar playing is a good idea. At night there is usually a disco or band.

18. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Kiddies half portions, food for vegans and vegetarians, wheelchair access on table plan etc.

19. DRINKS On arrival - punch, alcoholic fruit punch, sherry, sparkling wine, orange juice for kids. With the meal - red or white wine (EFX do special rates, and the wine is constantly chilled). The toast - Sparkling wine or champagne. It is not always neccessary for you to buy champagne for everyone.

20. COLOUR SCHEME You can have special napkins printed by stationary shops, or we can simply macth the colour to suit your scheme.

21. FUNCTION ROOM Check with the caterers that it has the facilities to cope with your chosen menu and the number of guests, EFX will check out venues to see if there are enough tables and chairs, etc. We hold a list of quality venues.

22. EVENING FUNCTION Booking both functions with EFX will entitle you to 5% discount, and sometimes free hire. Please ask for details.

23, TABLE PLAN (round or sprigged table) Sprigged tables are good for larger functions of over 100 people as space is usually at a premium. Round tables usually 5ft circumference - lend themselves to a more informal set-up and are the most common.
